Need For Speed Hot Pursuit on iPhone
Wednesday, December 29, 2010I never managed to enjoy computer games that much. Especially with the car games, I always lose the excitement and get bored of playing games on computer. It was based on fake driving and not giving the same pleasure like driving. So I ignored games for very long time.
However, couple of days of I saw the Need For Speed Hot Pursuit in iTunes and I wanted to try it. I knew that I will get bored and delete it in couple of days. But this time, everything is totally different! The game is excellent, I enjoyed playing so much that my batteries finished in one battery (usual it lasts for two days). I know that it is fake driving but the scenario is so great, I did not even think it was boring for a minute.
Now I am very close to drive Bugatti Veyron as a police car and it is not very hard to play on iPhone. If you are getting bored nowadays or could not find a gift for your friend. This can be a very good idea :)

Aston Martin iPhone Application
Wednesday, December 22, 2010Today we finally have iPhone application for Aston Martin. Actually I was waiting for this application for long time. And my curiosity was getting higher and higher after each twitter post from Aston Martin about the application. Aston Martin was talking about the application and some preview pictures were posted but that was all. Basically, it made everyone more excited to wait for the release!
In overall, the application is great and offers everything about Aston Martin in a very cleaver design. After this application you may not visit the website that often. It has everything and updates through internet :) But I could not manage to use accelerometer properly. I did some movements but it wasn’t that successful to rev the engine. If I could manage to use it properly, I will write it here.
I don’t want talk too much about the application. Just enjoy the application :) And it is "free" :)

Recently I discovered an iPhone application called Wikitude. This application is using the iPhone’s one of the most sexy function, “I can understand my position”. This is the iPhone’s and some of the Android phones hardware ability to detect their position while we are holding them. They can calculate the angle, understand the way which we are heading. Basically they are smart enough to understand theirself :) Wikitude is using a technology called augment reality. I recently heard this thing. Sounds weird but it is integrating virtual world with the real world. With the help of phone’s camera, it can add label to real life. 
What is the relation with cars? My suggestion is for Range Rover Evoque (ˈiˈvəʊk). One of the most exciting iPhone applications is being offered by Land Rover for Evoque, pulse of the city. And this augmented reality technology would definitely fit with the brand. Evoque’s spy cars are moving around the world but we don’t know where they are. If you are car freak, you really want to see one. Especially if you are living in London, NewYork City, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Shanghai or in Paris. The Evoques are going around these cities right now. But how to spot them! Land Rover can integrate this augment reality feature to iPhone application and show how far the Evoque’s with from your current position. May be some people might running after the cars.

Ettore Bugatti once said “Bentleys are the world’s fastest trucks”. During 1930s Bentley was known by its extra weights! And this never changed for decades, Bentley is still very heavy and very fast. Bugatti did not forget to mention their speed! Now Bugatti is a very fast truck thanks to its huge engine and gearbox, I cannot say it is a light weight car.
Bentley’s obsession with weight continued on computer world also. Recently they have released an iPhone application. Unlike other application it is 280 MB! That’s heavy weight for computer world. Like their cars, weight is a way of comprising for more comfort. All Bentley’s are heavy weighted but they always offer the most exquisite quality to its customers. They have same idea on their iPhone application also.
It is the one of the best designed iPhone application, especially the quality of high definition videos and photos are amazing. You cannot find detailed information about their cars, it is a mobile catalogue for iPhone. Hopefully despite its heavy weight, application is working very smoothly like a Continental GT Speed!You can download from iTunes.

Range Rover Evoque is a new era for Land Rover. Like its unusual size for Land Rover family, everything for Evoque is unusual. From the press event to its brand ambassador (Victoria Beckham). Land Rover has big hopes for this new micro SUV. I am saying micro, because it is micro sized when you compare with Discovery 4!
Even though Evoque will be offered with front wheel drive, pleasured is not limited. Sure, it won’t be a very good off roader vehicle but nowadays nobody cares this! Involving with popular culture is more important than being a proper off roader.Since Evoque was revealed I was saying on my blog, release an iPhone application to communicate with a wide range people and inform about Evoque. Hopefully they did it :) Young & Rubicam London Office developed a Range Rove Evoque application for iPhone.
Today I had chance to try it and it is amazing. It is not giving information about technical details or you can experience the Evoque on off road terrain. Actually they should add these features after Paris Motor Show event.
Current function is mapping your route. Yes, sound very simple but the outcome is unbelievable. This idea is under the Pulse of The City concept. The application traces your journey and generates a very high quality image from that. Sounds pointless but the outcome is gorgeous. I never thought that my way to grocery was amazing like this :)

Recently Volkswagen Financial Services AG started to follow my blog. Thanks to Google Analytics, I can see which companies are following me. Therefore I have to post article for my audience. And I decided to offer something interesting for VW Financial Services.
As I read from their web site, it is the best place to work in Germany. And from the pictures, I can agree on this. But financial services are not something very entertaining for everyone. I am sure that some of the stuff is dealing with credit check for customers, analysing a potential VW Passat Estate Diesel’s future owner’s last ten years credit history. I don’t think, they are having fun like in research and development department.Now it is time to have a break. From the sibling company Porsche Design, there is a very funny iPhone application. Actually fun and Porsche Design are not very close words but they manage to combine it with this very interesting application.
In this application you choose the worst sun glasses of Porsche Design, not the best one the worst ones, and you take a picture of your face and then application is adding the desired sun glass with your face. Sound very creative but practically very funny. While looking for credit history check, you can have fun :)
VW Touareg's unusable iPhone game

VW Touareg has never been an adorable car for me. It was the break-even point for VW. It was the movement from peoples’ car to wealthy peoples’ car. And they achieved very successfully. Now VW is an expensive people car. Also it is very well made!
However Touareg was a disaster for me. I drove it once but it was not something special. Just a new VW. And many people shared similar feelings with me and VW introduced the new Touareg. It looks much much better than the older model. At least you won’t be scared when you see on street. I saw one last week, it was looking nice. 
In addition to its new style, it is built much better than former model and offers very sophisticated technologies. Intelligent light system, 8 speed automatic, clever radar guided cruise control, accident prevent system which breaks by itself. Basically you cannot have an accident with new Touareg. But still it is senseless! I know Range Rover, BMW X5 and Mercedes M Class are not perfect but they offer something different. Range Rover is the castle with wheels, X5 is the sporty lorry, M Class is Mercedes. 
In spite senseless character of Touareg, I am very optimistic for sales performance. It looks different, well built, I am sure that it is riding better than previous model. Customers do not care too much of details nowadays, they just own something special, unique and look expensive. VW knows the game.
Why I wrote this thing now? Last two weeks I am trying to finish VW Touareg iPhone game. But I cannot! I am using computer for nineteen years and I am terrible on games. However iPhone games supposed to be easy! But it is bloody hard! Actually the Touareg’s reactions on game are very similar to real life. Because SUV are not designed to be nimble expect BMW X5 and X6. And game is pushing you to be fast with Touareg in a circuit which was replicated from a carpet patterns. I am sure that you tried to play with your car on carpet with its ridiculous corners. This game is the same :) And if you are older than fifteen, just forget to finish it!
