Porsche Design Underwear !!!
Sunday, February 27, 2011I was wondering how Porsche Design can challenge the boundaries of product line extension. From mega yachts to whole kitchen design are the boundaries of Porsche Design. However they did not feel comfortable with all these and they decide to introduce something more elegant. Underwear!
I have just spotted Porsche Design underwear in online store of Adidas. I can understand everything from pencil to kitchen furniture but underwear! Who wants to wear a Porsche as underwear! I really wonder why they trying to push the artificial creativity for their clothing section. Current collection is adequate to generate money, many people buy Porsche Design clothes but underwear. This is the most pointless invention from the Porsche. And interestingly they did not offer their best colour, the grey! With price of €36, £32, $50

If they are still struggling to find a new idea, I have one. Porsche Design coffee beans, with this product consumer can experience the feeling of 911 while drinking a cup of coffee. Actually, there is one possibility. They can offer four different coffees. First one will be the cheap one and does not offer something really special expect being light taste, Boxster. Second one will be a bit more expensive than the first one and offers a bit stronger taste. Third one will have twenty different variations under it and it will reflect 911. It will be more expensive, stronger, distinctive taste and smell and twenty different types. Fourth one will have less caffeine, more relaxing, beans will be light brown coloured and also size of the beans should be huge. Last one will be exotic one from a mysterious part of the world, when you drink this coffee you will smell and taste something really different does not have relationship with the rest of the range. And it will be called Cayenne!

Recently Volkswagen Financial Services AG started to follow my blog. Thanks to Google Analytics, I can see which companies are following me. Therefore I have to post article for my audience. And I decided to offer something interesting for VW Financial Services.
As I read from their web site, it is the best place to work in Germany. And from the pictures, I can agree on this. But financial services are not something very entertaining for everyone. I am sure that some of the stuff is dealing with credit check for customers, analysing a potential VW Passat Estate Diesel’s future owner’s last ten years credit history. I don’t think, they are having fun like in research and development department.Now it is time to have a break. From the sibling company Porsche Design, there is a very funny iPhone application. Actually fun and Porsche Design are not very close words but they manage to combine it with this very interesting application.
In this application you choose the worst sun glasses of Porsche Design, not the best one the worst ones, and you take a picture of your face and then application is adding the desired sun glass with your face. Sound very creative but practically very funny. While looking for credit history check, you can have fun :)
Mercedes AMG Shoes :((((
Friday, March 5, 2010Santoni for AMG. This is a part of promotion of Mercedes SLS AMG. Not my favourite :( It did not manage to create the same pure sense of design, excellence of performance, distinctive soul of Mercedes Racing Heritage. It is just a engineering perfection with retro design and the same interior with Mercedes E Coupe. Same Interior! Buttons are the Same!
As I understood from the PR campaign, there are some bits of Porsche Design! SLS AMG is an iconic car, life style etc etc etc. Actually I don't agree, it does not have a unique design! Similar to Porsche Design, they are now offering shoes from Italian shoe maker Santoni. Except one or two models which are very similar to Camper shoes, the rest of the collection is quite nice. There are some similarities with Hogan shoes but they are nice until the moment you see the AMG word.
I really like Mercedes but I do not find AMG cool! You cannot make a brand cool or exquisite or desirable in couple of months. You must invest invest invest! Actually AMG's current position is doing really well. It is still a modification company. You did not reveal a design philosophy, I know with current managers AMG is in the excellence of its era. But you should wait more! Anything with Mercedes or AMG logo is not cool for life style, there is a long way to become Porsche Design!Pictures are from;

Marc Jacobs has a café, Porsche Design or Ferrari should have one also

Today I read on Vogue's website, fashion brand Marc Jacobs opened a café in Milan, Italy. This café will be reflect the brand design elements and they will have chance to taste Marc Jacobs! This is not something new, Marc Jacobs just joined the café trend like other brands. However, when I read this news an idea came to my mind. Why Ferrari or Porsche Design (PD) haven't opened a café yet? Especially PD has everything for a café (even the construction can be done by PD power drill!), they offer coffee machine, toaster! And this could also create an opportunity for new products like cups, spoons, may be even sugar!
The case is same with Ferrari also, it has lots of fans around the world and they are ready to drink a coffee in Ferrari café. Actually Ferrari offers many things with Ferrari badge, they don't even need to contact with third party company to supply things for café!
For Porsche Design and Ferrari, this is a new business area. Automotive business is not just selling cars or selling pens, they should also provide opportunity to experience the brand in a different way. Please don't try to produce coffee in car factory ;)Pictures are from;

Porsche Design for H&M

When we will see this slogan in advertisements? H&M worked with Jimmy Choo, Comme des Garcons, Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Stella McCartney, Viktor and Rolf, Roberto Cavalli and Elio Fiorucci. Every year H&M offers a special collection from a very luxury fashion designer and people rush into H&M stores to grab one of them. Offering limited edition clothes, shoes and accessories boost their sales and strength their brand image, also helps to improve brand royalty. This strategy became a part of H&M's marketing strategy and every year, there is a new brand to offer.
As H&M worked with nine different fashion brands (may be more), I am expecting to see Porsche Design for next year. Why not? I love Porsche Design and I want to buy them with reasonable price :) All of those brands are luxury and their fanatics had chance to buy the reasonable priced ones by H&M, like ladies are buying Jimmy Choo from H&M. I know Porsche Design is working with Adidas but they could do an exception! I know that, if Porsche Design will be in H&M its brand image and target group may not fit with this picture. Sunday, January 10, 2010Porsche Design is one of my favourite brands. It is giving opportunity to feel Porsche every moment in your life. From pencils to shoes, there are many many things made by Porsche Design. As I mentioned earlier, it also has some "interesting" products like Kitchen and Power Drill. However these products do not prevent to buy Porsche Design, actually they are emerging motivation to buy a proper Porsche but it is a bit harder than buying a pencil :)
And while I was looking at fashion magazines, I noticed something. There is always a section about combination of clothes, shoes and accessories. But there is no combination about what to wear with a car; so, I prepared one from Porsche Design. I am sure that, when you buy a Porsche, you will be confused what to wear, what to buy with your new Porsche! Now, you don't need to worry anymore ;) If you have a Porsche, you should have a Porsche life style :) You can find luggage with 911 Turbo wheels, pencils from block of aluminium, shoes are designed to drive Porsche !

I know that, you were waiting for this. You get bored of Adidas Porsche Design shoes, they look the same! Here is the new era for Porsche Design and I am pretty sure that, you were looking for this ;)The Porsche Design's 2010 shoes collection. This season's main difference is the manufacturer. They are not from Adidas; this time they are produced in Italy by a German company Muller & Meirer Lederwarenfabrik GmbH. Sounds a bit interesting, half Italian half German. It sounds like Lamborghini Murciélago, half German half Italian. The good thing is, like Panamera; Porsche Design extended its range to offer different tastes. I hope they won’t end these shoes production like they are planning to end Panamera in 2012.
Tokyo
Now there are four different models; Tokyo, Milano, New York and Berlin. For me the best looking ones is the Tokyo model. Unlike other Porsche Design shoes, it looks contemporary and elegant. Some of the Porsche Design shoes are too much sports and they cannot be worn in everywhere. However, this new collection broke that limit and you could wear your Porsche to anywhere at any time ;) That's what I was looking for long time!

And one of the coolest thing about these shoes is their soles, the Porsche Design labelled metal part underneath the shoes looks are really nice!
Also Porsche Design offer new fragrance for your cars, hoppss sorry not for your car. That's for you, you could have the Porsche smell all time. I really wonder, why someone wants to stinks like a car! Anyway, its bottle looks very nice. I could buy an empty fragrance, just for its bottle.

Porsche Design is one of my favourite brand which is reflecting a sports car's design to daily products. And provides opportunity to experience new things which you cannot experience with your car. As I mentioned earlier with their kitchen product, time to time Porsche Design introduces some "interesting" products. And recently I found very useful Porsche Design which will cause thousands of people to run after that. That's a multihammer power drill tools by Porsche Design! I am relly curios, who is going to buy this product? OK, this is a well designed product to be presented in design exhibitions. Let's think about which type of people are buying power drills and what are they doing with that!
Multihammer power drill tools are used for digging holes in concrete walls, break very hard materials into parts; also they make enourmous sounds and mess up the places around them. Unlike other Porsche Design products, multihammer power drills are not that friendly!!! Except this product, I didn't notice any Porsche Design which mess up everywhere like this. Also, these products are used my mostly very skilled workers and they don't want to pay extra money to own a Porsche Design drill! Because, they make money by using drills. 
Now we can understand that, Porsche Design targeted people who are buying pens and 911s for this product. And one day they will desperately want to open a huge hole in their wall and they will desperately look for Porsche Design multihammer power drill. Very good story, hollywood could make a movie from this.
Unfortunately, people who will buy this product do not exist on earth. No, I am pretty sure that some people will buy it because that's a Porsche ;) This is very bad example for brand strecthing, people do not strecth your brand up to power drills !I am fan a of Porsche Design, but I would never buy this :(
Last note: This power drill could rev up to 4600 per minutes :)
